# **Overview**

This guide will specifically explain how to add Placeholder Tokens to any documents subscribers intend to upload to a Loan Product, such as the contract, arrears letters, default notices or payout letters. Biz Core will automatically convert the Tokens into information that is specific to each lead, application or loan.

After uploading documents to a Loan Product, users can then attach them to Templates, and send them to customers using a variety of automated or manual methods. For information on how to include Placeholder Tokens in SMS, Email and Note Templates within each Loan Product, consult the Template section of the [Loan Product Setup guide](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1776680977/Loan+Product+Setup#Templates).

First subscribers should browse the list of [supported Placeholder Tokens](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1797357573/Placeholder+Tokens) and select those that are relevant to their documents. The list of available Tokens is broken up into four stages of the lending process, Leads, Applications, Loans and Loan Contract.

When uploading the documents to a Loan Product after Tokenizing them, users will be required to select a stage (also known as a record type) it is associated with, or whether it is the loan contract. Users must ensure to only include Tokens that are supported by the stage they intend to use the document for.

For example: if adding Tokens to an existing contract, use only those Tokens in the Loan Contract table.

# **Add Tokens Into Documents**

In order to add Tokens into documents, first ensure they are in the correct format, either .doc or .docx. PDF files are not compatible with the Token functionality.

Next, open a document in a word processing application such as Microsoft Word, and add the required Tokens, ensuring to copy the entire Token directly from the [list](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1797357573/Placeholder+Tokens). See the example below of a Payout Letter:

In the above example, all of the Tokens (text in between the curly brackets) will be replaced with data that is specific to the loan. See below for how the Payout Letter looks after being sent through an email template added to a Loan Product in Biz Core:

After users have added their required Tokens, they should follow the same process for each of the documents they want Biz Core to personalise, then ensure each one is saved as a .doc or .docx file. Once users are ready to upload them onto the Loan Product, go to the next step.

# **Uploading Tokenized Documents**

Once users have successfully added Tokens into their document(s), follow the guide for uploading documents on the [Loan Product Setup page](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1776680977/Loan+Product+Setup#Uploading-Documents). After they have uploaded the documents to their loan product, users can continue following the process to discover how to create Templates that will automate the sending of the Tokenized documents, or allow users to manually send them as part of their communications with customers.
