# **Overview**

After a subscription to the Biz Core Lending and Payments system has been successfully activated, it's time for users to commence utilising the Biz Core Portal for loan origination and/or servicing purposes.

Outlined below is the guided configuration path for setting up Biz Core to meet the requirements of a typical lender. While each step can be tailored to meet the subscriber’s precise specifications, following the entire configuration path guarantees a smooth experience for both users and customers engaging with lending operations via the Biz Core platform.

For generic information such as how to navigate the Biz Core portal, understanding Records/Status' and more, check the [Getting Started](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1776549904) guide.

> ℹ️ There is currently no functionality for migrating existing loans into the platform.

# **Creating and Managing Users**

Once a Biz Core subscription has been activated the subscription manager will receive an email with the Master User’s username and password. The Master User has full admin privileges within the subscription, and can immediately begin adding additional users and managing their permissions, depending on their requirements and workflows. Once a user is created they will immediately receive an email with their login credentials, and can begin exploring the system.

Follow the [User Management](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1776025629/User+Management) guide for assistance with adding users, and controlling their individual permissions within the subscription.

# **Loan Origination → Servicing Configuration Path**

This path covers the entire process from Origination → Application Assessment → Servicing:

## **1. Tokenize Documents**

One of the most powerful features Biz Core offers is the ability to dynamically update loan documents with customer- and subscriber-specific data. Users can browse the list of [Placeholder Tokens](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1797357573/Placeholder+Tokens) and decide which ones are best suited to each of their documents, such as the loan contract, marketing material, arrears letters and more.

Follow the [Guide to Using Placeholder Tokens](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1960083457/How+to+Use+Placeholder+Tokens) for more assistance, such as selecting the correct stage tokens for each document.

## **2. Configure Loan Product(s)**

Loan Products act as the framework for loans that customers can apply for through the Application Form, as well as the basis for the assessment and setup of the loan by users active in the subscription. This is where subscriber’s configure the fee structure, the loan amount, loan term and communication templates among other things. They can create as many Loan Products as they require, and ensure they make at least one before continuing the guide, as they are integral to the next step.

Follow the guide for [Setting Up a Loan Product.](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1776680977)

## **3. Create and Share Application Form(s)**

The next step is to create an Application Form to share with customers in order to begin originating loans directly into the Biz Core portal. Each Application Form is linked to the Loan Product(s) created in the previous step. As with Loan Products, users can create as many of these customer-facing forms as they require, and they can be fully customised to specific lending requirements. Once a customer provides their personal details this information can be immediately captured and stored within Biz Core as a Lead, allowing users to follow it up or action the application, check the [Lead Management documentation](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1776975877/Lead+Management) for more.

Follow the [Application Form Setup](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1776615437/Application+Form+Setup) guide to learn about customising, then sharing or embedding the form so customers can access it.

## **4. Understand the Application Process and Disbursements**

Once the Application Form has been shared and subscribers begin seeing customer's loan applications coming through to Biz Core, users are able to begin assessing them and eventually disbursing funds. In order to understand how this process works, consult the [Loan Application Process guide](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1779826689/Loan+Application+Process), this provides the entire procedure for turning a customer lead into an application, setting up the proposed loan and ultimately approving or denying the request.

Any approved loans can be disbursed manually, external to Biz Core, or by using the inbuilt ABA File or PayID functionality. The [Loan Disbursements documentation](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1857880159/Loan+Disbursements) provides an overview of the options for distributing loan advances to customers.

## **5. Configure and Share the Customer Portal**

Similar to the Application Form, the Customer Portal can be shared with customers via a link or embedded into an existing website. It allows customers to view and manage their existing loans with the ability to make additional payments, view statements, as well as see the status of their applications and their current payment arrangements.

See the [Configuring the Customer Portal](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1993277441/Configuring+the+Customer+Portal) or [Using the Customer Portal](https://bizcore.refined.site/space/BCKB/1993277453/Using+the+Customer+Portal) documents to start using this feature.
